It has been a while since I posted. In July Google introduced Jagger. I was thrilled with that as it kept sites from using our name and text in their keywords to pull up their own sites. It looks like this has resulted in big changes in the way reciprocal links are viewed in Google. Prior to this, reciprocal link exchanges were instrumental in bringing a site's popularity to the top of the search engine results. Since the changeover, not one of the new links listed on our reciprocal links pages appeared in Google. In other words, all reciprocal links had vanished. We think it's because Google is down-grading or eliminating reciprocal links as a measure of popularity. The links that did start reappearing were links that were reciprocated off site. The idea behind this is to build good solid links based on quality of page instead of on a link exchange.
